Israeli drone strike kills two in southern Lebanon

Two men were killed and others injured in separate Israeli drone strikes in southern Lebanon on Thursday, according to Lebanese authorities. The Israeli military later identified the victims as Hassan Ahmad Sabra, a commander in Hezbollah’s naval unit, and another member allegedly involved in rebuilding “terrorist infrastructure.”

The first strike occurred on the Toul–Kfour road in the Al-Nabatieh district, where a drone targeted a vehicle, killing the driver and injuring two others. The vehicle caught fire after the explosion.

A second drone strike targeted a truck in the coastal town of Al-Naqoura less than an hour later, killing one person. A third strike on Kabrikha village killed one person and wounded another.

The Israeli military stated it attacked sites linked to Hezbollah, including a military camp and a site for the production of precision missiles. The army claimed its forces killed Abbas Hassan Karky, identified as the logistics commander of Hezbollah’s Southern Front headquarters, in the Nabatieh area.

These incidents are the latest in ongoing breaches of the ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel, which came into effect on November 27, 2024. Lebanese officials report nearly 4,000 violations to date, with 251 deaths and 559 injuries recorded.
