Israeli strikes kill 11 in southern Lebanon amid ongoing shelling

Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon killed at least 11 people, including three children, and wounded 19 others. The strikes targeted homes in the villages of Ansar and Deir al-Zahrani. Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam criticized the strikes, calling them 'extremely dangerous' and stating they undermine efforts to stabilize the situation in the south. Hezbollah condemned the attacks and vowed a response. The Israeli military stated that the strikes on 'Hezbollah infrastructure' were in response to Hezbollah fighters attacking soldiers in the Ali Taher area. The Israeli military also stated that its earlier interception of a 'suspicious aerial target' was 'apparently launched at a false target'. Heavy Israeli artillery shelling targeting Wadi al-Hujair and Beit Leef in southern Lebanon was also reported.
