Houthi leader warns Saudi Arabia over blockade, pledges support for Iran

Houthi leader Abdel-Malik al-Houthi has issued a strong warning to Saudi Arabia, stating that the ongoing blockade of Yemen would be met with a "blockade for blockade" response. In a televised address, al-Houthi accused Riyadh of tyranny and injustice against the Yemeni people, asserting that Saudi military buildups and efforts to tighten the blockade were indicative of potential escalation.

Al-Houthi reaffirmed Yemen's unwavering support for Palestinian fighters, pledging to "spare no effort" until the fall of Israel. He also condemned the "unjust siege" and "aggressive occupation" carried out by Saudi Arabia with US backing, linking continued Saudi measures to serving US and Israeli interests. He specifically pointed to Saudi Arabia opening its airspace to Israelis while maintaining restrictions on Yemenis.

Furthermore, the Houthi leader renewed Yemen's support for Iran and called for strengthening unity within the "Axis of Jihad and Resistance," which includes resistance movements in Lebanon and Palestine. He framed the aggression against Iran, Yemen, Lebanon, and Israel's actions in Syria as part of larger plots orchestrated by the US and the "Zionist regime."
