Houthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi has accused Saudi Arabia of "perpetrating a siege" against territory controlled by the group, with alleged support from the United States. Al-Houthi described the kingdom's "aggressive policies" as destabilizing Yemen and labeled Saudi Arabia the "unjust perpetrator" of the ongoing conflict.
He stated that the Houthi actions were a response to Saudi attacks on Yemen's Sanaa International Airport. Al-Houthi further dismissed claims that the group had launched a drone towards the holy city of Mecca, calling it an "ugly lie."
"They try to justify and rationalise what they are perpetrating against our people," he said. "Through this, they also aim to instigate and provoke others to rally support."
