HHHunt, a family-owned homebuilding and real estate company, has announced a planned leadership transition, appointing Chief Financial Officer Ann Kelly as its next chief executive officer, effective July 1, 2027. Kelly, who joined HHHunt in 2001, will succeed Buck Hunt, who has served as CEO since 2013. Hunt will remain as chairman and will focus on long-term strategy and developing a new hospitality venture for the company.
As part of the executive reshuffling, Steve Brant, currently senior vice president of finance and treasury, will step into the CFO role on the same date. Chief Operations Officer Steve Fritz will continue in his current position, and the three will form HHHunt's executive leadership team. Kelly's extensive experience in homebuilding operations and corporate finance, spanning over two decades with the company, positions her to lead HHHunt during a period of increased pressure on private regional builders to scale and manage capital effectively.
Kelly's career at HHHunt began in 2001, initially as controller for HHHunt Homes, providing her with deep insight into construction costs. She progressed through various finance roles before becoming CFO in 2019, overseeing financial operations across the company's various divisions. Brant joined HHHunt in 2006 and has held several finance leadership positions, while Fritz, the COO since 2019, has a background with large publicly traded homebuilders.
Buck Hunt, son of the founder, has guided HHHunt through significant strategic changes during his tenure. The decision to retain him as chairman and task him with developing a new hospitality arm aims to maintain family oversight while exploring new growth avenues. Both Hunt and Kelly expressed confidence in the new leadership team and the company's future direction.
