GL Homes' Riverland, a 4,000-acre master-planned community for adults aged 55 and over in Port St. Lucie, Florida, is expanding its pickleball facilities as part of a strategy to drive home sales through enhanced resident connectivity and amenities. Since its launch in 2018, Riverland has sold over 4,200 homes and is projected to reach approximately 11,000 homes at completion.
Company leaders highlight the importance of placemaking investments, such as the Paseo Greenway and an extensive pickleball complex, in creating an environment where residents can interact and build community. Ryan Courson, GL Homes’ Division President of St. Lucie County, described the Paseo Greenway as the "heart of Riverland," designed with green spaces and seating areas to facilitate neighborly connections.
The community's focus on physical and social connectivity through amenities like the Paseo and its pickleball courts is presented as a key factor in its sustained sales momentum throughout the development lifecycle.
