Nancy Mace's former fiance, Patrick Bryant, and two of his associates, John Douglas Osborne and Eric Bernard Bowman, were charged with sex crimes and voyeurism on Wednesday. The charges stem from an incident in October 2018 that Mace, a Republican representative, detailed in a February 2025 speech on the House floor. Osborne is accused of committing sex acts on an incapacitated woman while Bryant and Bowman allegedly watched and recorded the assault. Mace stated that she "accidentally uncovered some of the most heinous crimes against women imaginable" when she reviewed Bryant's phone. Bryant had previously denied the allegations. The State Law Enforcement Division brought the charges, with Osborne facing assault and criminal sexual conduct charges, and Bryant and Bowman facing voyeurism charges. Bowman also faces obstruction of justice and charges related to publishing a victim's name and video online.
