Daniel Ekerold joins Compass from Douglas Elliman in Palm Beach

Compass has added Daniel Ekerold, a luxury real estate professional in Palm Beach, to its Florida team. Ekerold joins from Douglas Elliman, where he focused on ultra-high-net-worth clients, developers, and investors.

According to the 2026 RealTrends Verified rankings, Ekerold closed eight transaction sides totaling $17.84 million in 2025, earning him the No. 816 spot for sales volume in the state. Ekerold stated that trust and discretion are paramount in his business, emphasizing clear communication and high-level execution.

Originally from South Africa and a graduate of the University of Cape Town, Ekerold has a diverse background including service in the Royal Marines, work on private yachts, experience building service companies, and leadership of a nonprofit organization. Adam Vellano, principal broker of Florida at Compass, welcomed Ekerold, highlighting his market knowledge and concierge approach.

Ekerold and his team aim to leverage the move to Compass to expand their presence in Palm Beach and across South Florida.
