Chinese prosecutors have indicted former Chengdu Mayor Wang Fengchao on bribery charges, alleging that the veteran executive and official used positions spanning state-owned enterprises and government to seek benefits for others in exchange for illicit payments. The Supreme People's Procuratorate said it ordered Wang's arrest and designated prosecutors in Changsha, the capital of central China's Hunan province, to handle the case. The Changsha procuratorate recently filed the case with the city's intermediate people's court. Wang had previously been expelled from the Communist Party of China and dismissed from public office due to severe breaches of party disciplines and national laws, according to announcements by Chinese anti-graft bodies in June.
