British rapper and YouTuber Yung Filly, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, will face a retrial in Australia on three rape charges. A jury in Western Australia acquitted the 31-year-old of several sexual assault offenses but could not reach a unanimous decision on three counts of sexual penetration without consent. He was also acquitted of one assault charge and one strangulation charge. However, the jury found him guilty of two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, related to biting the woman. The charges stem from an alleged incident in Perth in 2024 involving a 20-year-old fan. Barrientos had pleaded not guilty to all 10 charges. His legal team admitted to biting the woman, describing them as 'love bites,' while prosecutors alleged the encounters turned violent and non-consensual. Barrientos's career, which includes appearances on BBC's Celebrity Bake Off and hosting light entertainment programs, has been halted by the trial. Some of his fans were banned from the courtroom for illegally recording inside. Barrientos's bail was continued, and he is required to remain in Western Australia. He will next appear in court on August 27 for a bail variation application, with a retrial date yet to be set.
