Abu Safiya, the director of Gaza's Kamal Adwan Hospital, gained international attention for his work treating victims during Israel's military operations in Gaza. He was arrested by Israeli forces on December 27, 2024, and has been held since without trial. Amnesty International highlighted his dedication to his patients, stating he remained at the hospital until Israeli forces raided it and arrested him.
