Enterprise data software provider Alation confirmed on Thursday that it had suffered a cyberattack. The company, which offers data search and AI-powered content solutions to over 500 global companies, including approximately half of the Fortune 1000, stated it is investigating the incident.
Alation had previously reported an unspecified incident on Tuesday that led to "degraded availability" for some of its clients, which was reportedly resolved within an hour. In a statement provided by external representative Stephen Russell, Alation said it "recently identified an isolated incident involving unauthorized activity in one of its systems" and is conducting a thorough investigation.
