Texas Governor Greg Abbott has reported a significant fundraising boost in the lead-up to the midterm elections, bringing in $26 million in the 30-day period ending October 24. A substantial portion of this, at least $6 million, came from the tech and data center industries, including a $5 million contribution from Elon Musk on September 28. Abbott's campaign finance report also showed a $3 million donation from the Republican Governors Association on October 20, as well as $2 million from Kenneth Fisher and $2.5 million from Phil Knight. In contrast, Abbott's opponent, Democratic state Representative Gina Hinojosa, raised $17.5 million during the same period, with notable contributions including $1 million each from Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and the Democratic Governors Association. However, Hinojosa's campaign had less than $1 million in cash on hand with about a week remaining before the November 3 election, while Abbott's main political action committee held approximately $8.6 million.
