Italy's luxury hospitality sector is set for significant expansion with new hotel openings from major brands Hyatt and IHG, alongside the debut of Dior's first permanent spa in the country. Hyatt plans to add 428 rooms and suites across three new properties. The Hyatt Regency Rome Central, featuring 238 rooms and suites, is expected to open by the end of September, marking the brand's debut in Italy. Following this, the Thompson lifestyle brand will launch in Rome later in the year, housed in a repurposed heritage building near the Colosseum. In 2028, the Park Hyatt Taormina will open in Sicily with 121 suites overlooking the Ionian Sea.
IHG Hotels & Resorts is also bolstering its Italian presence with four new hotels. A dual-branded Crowne Plaza and Staybridge Suites hotel is slated for Milan's NoLo district in January 2027, offering a combined 163 rooms and apartments. In mid-2027, the Garner brand will debut in northern Italy with Garner Hotel Turin Porta Nuova in Turin. By 2028, IHG will open Hotel Indigo Apulia Alberobello in southern Italy, featuring a spa and convention center.
Complementing these hotel developments, Dior has launched its first permanent spa in Italy, a collaboration with the Grand Hotel Timeo in Taormina, Sicily. The spa offers haute-couture-inspired wellness treatments, with services starting from €290.
