A 39-year-old Ukrainian woman, identified as Anastasiia Berezovska, is being sought by authorities in Monaco for allegedly planting a parcel bomb that injured three people earlier this week. One of the victims remains in critical condition, according to Monaco's head prosecutor Stéphane Thibault.
Thibault stated that Berezovska, whose last known address was in Germany, specifically targeted the three main victims. He added that she had conducted "several site surveys" prior to the attack, even "dressing up as a man" to avoid identification. Surveillance footage reportedly showed the suspect verifying that the three victims were in position on the steps of a luxury hotel before detonating the device remotely.
French media have identified Ukrainian-born Cypriot businessman Vadim Ermolaev as one of the victims, though the prosecutor declined to confirm this. Ermolaev, once considered one of Ukraine's wealthiest businessmen, was sanctioned by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in 2023 due to allegations of his companies paying taxes in Russian-occupied Crimea, claims he has denied.
