A Russian ballistic missile strike on Ukraine's southern port city of Odesa late Tuesday killed four people, including Syrian citizens aged 18 to 24, and injured two others, Ukrainian authorities reported Wednesday. The attack also damaged a Barbados-flagged cargo ship that was being loaded with grain destined for Algeria.
Oleksiy Kuleba, vice prime minister for reconstruction, stated on social media that Russia is attacking Ukraine's infrastructure, including ports crucial for global food security. The youngest victim was 18 and the oldest was 24.
Separately, the governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region reported that a 47-year-old woman was killed during a Russian missile attack on Kryvyi Rig, the hometown of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Ukrainian air force said Russia launched a total of three missiles and 133 drones of various types at the country overnight. Air defense units successfully shot down 98 of the drones.
