Led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, the MMU asserted that any attempts to create sectarian discord or disturb the atmosphere of brotherhood would not be tolerated. The committee announced plans to monitor social media to counter disruptive elements aiming to undermine sectarian harmony, particularly during Muharram when the Shia community observes mourning rituals and processions.
Participants at the meeting, which included leading scholars and religious leaders, emphasized the imperative to strengthen unity, mutual respect, and inter-sectarian understanding in light of local, national, and international challenges facing the Muslim community.
