Jordanian authorities have denied reports that the Aqaba airport and seaport were evacuated following a warning from the US embassy to American citizens about a credible threat. Mohammad Al-Momani, a government spokesperson, told Reuters that relevant authorities had not issued any evacuation orders for either the airport or the seaport. He further stated that authorities in the Hashemite kingdom have not recorded any potential threats to Aqaba in recent hours. According to the government, both the Aqaba airport and seaport are operating normally. The US embassy had advised Americans to refrain from traveling to either location and to continue to follow all security directives issued by Jordanian authorities. The US military said on Saturday that two of its personnel were killed in Jordan and another was missing after an Iranian attack. Over the last week, Jordan has repeatedly said that it has intercepted Iranian missiles flying over its territory.
