Israeli occupation forces demolished two Palestinian homes in the village of Shuqba, west of Ramallah, on Tuesday morning. The demolitions, which occurred without prior notice, targeted structures belonging to Wael Salama Qadah and the son of Abdul Qader Shalash, or Ahmad Shallash and Mousa Sweilem, according to differing reports. One report also mentioned the demolition of a house belonging to Abdul Halim Thabet in Shuqba and another belonging to Mustafa Abdul Ghani Za'atra in Al-Sawahra, southeast of Jerusalem.
Eyewitnesses and local officials stated that Israeli forces, accompanied by bulldozers, stormed the al-Attari area of Shuqba and leveled the homes. During the operation, soldiers fired stun grenades and tear gas at residents and journalists who had gathered near the demolition sites, causing several cases of suffocation and forcing media crews to withdraw.
Separately, Israeli forces detained four Palestinians, including a young woman, during raids in Jenin early Tuesday morning. Among those detained were former prisoner Ghassan al-Atrash, Thaer Alawneh, Mohammad Abahra, and Basmala Hawashin, the sister of a slain Palestinian. The detentions occurred after forces stormed homes and a residential building housing displaced families.
These actions come amid an escalation in punitive measures and land seizures across Area C of the West Bank, where Israel exercises full control over planning and construction. Since the beginning of 2025, Israeli authorities have intensified the demolition of Palestinian-owned structures, including homes, agricultural facilities, and infrastructure, displacing hundreds of families. Between January and August 2025, at least 168 structures were demolished. From October 7, 2023, to October 5, 2025, Israeli authorities conducted 1,014 demolition operations, targeting 3,679 structures, including 1,288 inhabited homes.
