An Israeli drone strike killed four people in southern Lebanon's Nabatieh district on Saturday, marking a significant violation of a U.S.-brokered ceasefire. The attack targeted a vehicle, according to Lebanon's state news agency.
Earlier, an Israeli drone strike in the town of Toul in southern Lebanon killed two people and injured two others, involving a missile hitting a car. The Israeli military stated it attacked sites linked to Hezbollah, including a military camp and a precision missile production site, and later claimed to have killed Abbas Hassan Karky, identified as the logistics commander of Hezbollah’s Southern Front headquarters, in the Nabatieh area.
Separately, Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported an Israeli air strike on the Kroum al-Marah neighbourhood in the Marjayoun district with no injuries reported. On Thursday, Israeli forces targeted the eastern Bekaa region, killing two people, and later targeted Arabsalim in southern Lebanon, killing two others, including an elderly woman.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has requested intervention from the U.S. and France to restrain Israel. Previous Israeli drone attacks in southern Lebanon have resulted in civilian casualties, including five deaths, among them three children.
