Yemen's Houthi rebels have claimed responsibility for a significant attack involving ballistic missiles and drones targeting Saudi-aligned forces and equipment in the city of Mokha and in the eastern provinces of Marib and Hadhramaut. Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree stated that the operation was preemptive and resulted in hundreds of casualties among Saudi-aligned troops, along with the destruction of military camps, mobilizations, and weapons depots.
Yemeni government officials reported that at least 30 troops were killed and 50 wounded in the attacks. The Yemeni Defense Ministry confirmed the "treacherous attack" and asserted that the armed forces would respond at an appropriate time and place. The Yemen Emergency Forces (YEF) also acknowledged being targeted, citing material and human losses.
Separately, Saudi Arabia's military reported that Houthi rebel attacks in the southern region of Najran, near the Yemeni border, injured 11 civilians, including a child.
