Explosions heard in Sanaa following Israeli airstrikes

The IDF said it struck multiple military targets in Sanaa, including a military site housing the presidency palace, the Adar and Hizaz power plants, and a fuel storage site, all used for the Houthi regime's military activity. The IDF also stated that the Houthis, backed by Iran, continue to exploit civilian infrastructure for terror purposes.

The Houthi media office reported that Israeli strikes hit multiple areas across the capital, including a power plant and a gas station. Residents reported hearing loud sounds of explosions in different areas, including near the presidential palace. The Iran-backed Houthis have been launching missiles and drones toward Israel and targeting ships in the Red Sea for more than 22 months, stating the attacks are in solidarity with Palestinians amid the war in Gaza.

Separately, a report indicated a massive explosion rocked Sana'a following a United States airstrike targeting a Houthi weapons storage facility. U.S. Central Command confirmed the strike, which aimed to degrade the military capabilities of the Houthi rebels and reportedly targeted missile components used in attacks on vessels in the region.
