Modelling scout Daniel Siad, 69, who was linked to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, has been found dead at his home in Colombes, a northwestern suburb of Paris. Prosecutors confirmed the discovery on Wednesday, stating that an investigation into the cause of death was opened on Monday evening and an autopsy will be conducted.
Siad's name appeared in over 1,000 documents released as part of the declassified Epstein files. He was under investigation in France for accusations of rape and for allegedly aiding Epstein in trafficking and abusing women. Siad had not yet been questioned by investigators but had previously denied the allegations, asserting he wanted to be heard and provide his account.
In a message to Epstein in 2014, Siad likened his recruitment efforts to fishing, writing, "In This busyness I feel like fisherman some time I cache quick, some time no fish." He had also insisted that Epstein had "taken advantage of his trust."
French authorities arrested modelling agent Jean-Luc Brunel in 2020 on allegations he procured women for Epstein. Brunel, who was found dead in his Paris prison cell in 2022, was also a long-time associate of Epstein and faced accusations of sexually abusing minors and sex-trafficking.
