The UK's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has granted approval for Eli Lilly's oral weight-loss drug, Foundayo. This marks the first regulatory license for the medication within Europe. Foundayo has received approval for use in weight management and for individuals with type 2 diabetes. However, access to the drug in the European Union is not expected to be available until sometime in 2025. In the UK, further decisions regarding National Health Service (NHS) coverage are pending. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) is expected to make its determination on NHS coverage by November 18.
