Samsung Group's brand value reached $97.4 billion this year, marking an 8.9 percent increase from the previous year's estimate of $89.4 billion, according to a report by British consulting firm Brand Finance. The South Korean conglomerate secured the eighth position among major global technology companies, maintaining its status as the sole South Korean brand within the top 10.
Other South Korean companies also featured in the rankings, with SK hynix Inc. climbing one spot to 28th. LG Group saw a decline, falling eight places to 44th. Coupang Inc., the U.S.-listed e-commerce giant, ranked 49th, a slight decrease from the prior year, while South Korea's leading search engine operator Naver Corp. moved up five spots to 95th.
The report indicated that the United States dominates the top 100 brands with 46 entries, followed by China with 25 and Japan with nine. Apple Inc. led the rankings with a brand value of $607.6 billion, followed by Microsoft Corp., Google LLC, and Amazon.com Inc.
