The XRP Ledger Foundation has partnered with Ankr to establish a global network of public nodes, enhancing accessibility for developers and users interacting with the XRP Ledger (XRPL). This initiative aims to simplify network engagement by removing the need for individuals to run their own nodes and improving overall connectivity across various regions, including New York and Singapore.
The new infrastructure provides free JSON-RPC endpoints for both the XRP Ledger mainnet and testnet, alongside a real-time dashboard displaying network health, block height, latency, and request volume. A dedicated 'Quickstart' section offers developers ready-to-use code examples. This development follows the recent successful implementation of the fixCleanup3_2_0 amendment.
Simultaneously, preparations are underway for the xrpld v3.3.0 mainnet upgrade, spearheaded by Jazzi Cooper, RippleX Head of Product. This upcoming release is set to introduce five proposed amendments designed to advance the utility of tokenized assets on the XRPL. Key proposed features include Confidential MPT for enhanced privacy using zero-knowledge proofs, Batch for atomic settlement and delivery versus payment, Permission Delegation for institutions, Sponsored Fees and Reserves to cover user transaction costs, and Dynamic MPT to allow post-issuance token property changes. The activation of these amendments is contingent on validator approval.
