Spain's victory over Belgium in the quarter-finals triggered the burn of 1,161,234 SPAIN Fan Tokens, valued at approximately $649,050. This burn reduced the total supply of SPAIN tokens to 27.25 million. Spain currently leads the 'Burn to Glory' leaderboard, having burned nearly three million fan tokens throughout the tournament.
Argentina, the reigning champions, also contributed to the token burns after defeating Switzerland to reach the final four. The total number of ARG Fan Tokens burned in the tournament has reached 160,000. Argentina's treasury burn rate is set to increase from 5% to 7.5% if they secure a semi-final victory.

Chiliz has also introduced weekly trader competitions, such as Vibe Trading and Battle Trade, to engage users during World Cup matches.
Chiliz's activities extend beyond the World Cup. The company is seeking approval to launch college sports fan tokens on its Socios app in the U.S., with a rollout planned for the 2026 college sports season. Previously, Chiliz held a 'Token Hunt' event, allowing users to collect SPAIN and BELG tokens along with CHZ rewards.
In terms of network development, Chiliz Chain has completed its Cancun, Prague, and Pascal upgrades, enhancing Ethereum compatibility, wallet functionality, and execution. The number of staked CHZ tokens increased by 20 million in the past week, bringing the total staked CHZ to 990 million since its launch.
