Hyperscale Data, Inc. has announced another acquisition of Bitcoin, increasing its total holdings to 1,106 coins, valued at $69.7 million at current prices. This latest purchase added 18.594 Bitcoin to the company's reserves since the previous week's acquisition of 51.5 coins.
Milton ‘Todd’ Ault III, Hyperscale Data’s executive chairman, stated that each Bitcoin acquisition strengthens the company's balance sheet and financial flexibility, providing options for growth financing and strategic opportunities. The company intends to continue expanding its Bitcoin position over time.
The company's Bitcoin holdings are distributed across its subsidiaries, Sentinum, Inc. and Ault Capital Group, Inc. (ACG). This strategy is part of Hyperscale's objective to build a digital asset treasury of $100 million and achieve parity between its Bitcoin holdings and market capitalization.
Hyperscale is emulating the strategy of Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), which transitioned from a software business to accumulating Bitcoin. This approach has inspired other corporations to add Bitcoin to their treasuries, although Hyperscale's situation is notable as its holdings now surpass its market capitalization.
