Hong Kong-licensed cryptocurrency exchange HashKey Exchange has secured approval from JPMorgan Chase to establish a client money account. This development, announced by its parent company HashKey Holdings, aims to bolster the exchange's financial infrastructure by enabling client fund segregation and settlement through JPMorgan's banking services.
This strategic move comes shortly after HashKey Exchange activated a similar customer fund account with Singapore's DBS Bank on June 30, which allows for fiat deposits, withdrawals, and settlement. The integration with major banking institutions like JPMorgan and DBS is part of HashKey's broader strategy to enhance its operational capabilities and client services.
In a related development, HashKey Holdings recently merged its separate HashKey Exchange and HashKey Global applications into a unified portal. The company had previously raised $206 million in an oversubscribed initial public offering in Hong Kong in December.
