Foundry USA, the world's largest Bitcoin mining pool by hashrate, has initiated a poll among its mining customers regarding their support for Bitcoin Improvement Proposal (BIP)-110. This proposal, currently a subject of active debate within the Bitcoin community, seeks to reduce the amount of data that can be stored within Bitcoin transactions. The stated aim is to limit non-monetary transactions, such as Ordinals, on the network. Foundry has also provided educational materials on the proposal to its clients, who can cast their votes via an email link. The voting period is set to conclude around early August, coinciding with Bitcoin block 961,632. The proposal has encountered significant opposition from prominent figures in the industry. Adam Back, CEO of Blockstream, has expressed concerns that BIP-110 could be exploited to freeze user funds. Similarly, Strategy executive chairman Michael Saylor has criticized the proposal, suggesting it could potentially invalidate ordinary transactions on the network. Foundry USA accounts for approximately 23.8% of the Bitcoin network's total hashrate, according to Hashrate Index.
