According to Chief Strategy Officer Pauline Shangett, the platform supports swaps across more than 110 blockchains, including Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, and Solana, and handles over 1,500 digital assets, with more being added weekly. The exchange also offers support for over 70 fiat currencies through partnerships with providers like Transak, Simplex, Banxa, and Guardarian, enabling purchases via methods such as Visa, MasterCard, and Google Pay.
In a recent benchmark conducted by swap aggregator Swapzone, ChangeNOW's median settlement time for a USDT-to-ETH swap was recorded at under a minute, significantly faster than the industry median of approximately 45 minutes. Shangett noted that the platform's ability to operate with its own inventory helps mitigate issues related to network speed.
Beyond swaps, ChangeNOW has introduced several new features. These include private transfers, which obscure the sender's wallet address from the recipient while maintaining AML monitoring; a Permanent Exchange Address for recurring conversions; and a crypto payment link for requesting or accepting payments. Additionally, a prediction markets hub aggregates popular markets from various sectors.
Shangett also detailed how ChangeNOW manages liquidity, especially during high-demand events like the 2021 Dogecoin frenzy or the TRUMP token launch. The team's global presence allows them to pre-position inventory to meet anticipated surges in user activity. For thinly traded or volatile pairs, the platform may impose minimum or maximum trade sizes, which are often very low, sometimes as little as $2. ChangeNOW also absorbs network fees in certain situations and provides real-time alerts during chain halts or hacks.
