Cash App, the mobile payment service operated by Jack Dorsey's Block, is expanding its cryptocurrency offerings beyond Bitcoin and USDC to include Ether, Solana, XRP, and USDT. This expansion is made possible through a new integration with the crypto payments platform MoonPay, allowing eligible U.S. customers to fund their crypto purchases directly using their Cash App balances. MoonPay's integration with Cash App Pay is available through its checkout and with select partners like Trust Wallet, MetaMask, and Ledger. MoonPay has also integrated payment options for PayPal and Venmo. Cash App reported 59 million active users in June, and its CEO, Ivan Soto-Wright, stated that this integration allows these users to access the digital asset ecosystem funded instantly from an app they already trust. MoonPay has been expanding its services beyond traditional fiat-to-crypto onramps, including acquisitions of DFlow and Sodot.
