Kuwait's state-owned sulphur producer, Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), has announced its July Kuwait Sulphur Price (KSP) will be $950 per tonne fob Kuwait. This represents a significant increase of $145 per tonne from the June KSP of $805 per tonne fob.
The new July price marks a record high for KSP, surpassing the previous record of $490 per tonne fob set in June 2022 by $460 per tonne. Freight rates for shipments of 30,000-35,000 tonnes to Chinese ports were $108-116 per tonne as of July 2. This implies a delivered cost of $1,058-1,066 per tonne cfr to China, with additional insurance premiums further increasing the delivered price.
