Gas supply is scheduled to commence in July 2027. The fuel will be sourced from Chevron's Wheatstone and Gorgon liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects, as well as its stake in the North West Shelf fields, all located offshore in Western Australia's Pilbara region.

This new agreement comes ahead of the expiration of a previous seven-year deal between Alinta and Chevron, which provided 20 PJ per year starting in 2020.
