Abu Dhabi's state-owned Adnoc has maintained its August sulphur official selling price (OSP) for the Indian subcontinent at $1,000 per tonne fob Ruwais, marking no change from its July pricing. This OSP implies a delivered price of $1,140-1,142/t cfr India.
The freight cost for a shipment of 40,000-45,000 tonnes to India's east coast was last assessed at $140-142/t on July 30. Shipping costs have seen a significant increase of $35/t since the July price was established, a rise attributed to the collapse of the US-Iran ceasefire deal.
Further cost escalations for delivered sulphur are possible, as additional expenses such as insurance premiums and higher bunker costs could elevate the final price levels.
