Woman suffers severe bed bug bites during Travelodge stay

Initially, Stephenson felt "ignored" when she complained to the hotel. She subsequently posted images of her bites on TikTok, which she believes prompted the hotel to engage with her. A Travelodge spokesperson apologized for her experience, stating that customer safety is a priority and that the company maintains stringent measures to prevent and manage pest issues. In instances where issues are reported, affected rooms are taken out of service for inspection and treatment by independent experts.

Stephenson has accepted £2,000 in compensation from Travelodge. She expressed hope that the company will implement more vigilant pest control measures in the future and encouraged others to speak out about similar experiences.
