The Wheat Foods Council (WFC) has appointed Sheri Glazier as its new executive director, a role she will assume on August 18, 2026. Glazier, who hails from Loyal, Oklahoma, brings a unique background as both a wheat farmer and a registered dietitian. She holds a bachelor's degree in Human Environmental Science and a master's degree in Nutritional Science from Oklahoma State University.
Glazier is also the founder of Dirt Road Dietitian, a program designed to bridge the gap between nutrition science and agriculture, and GROWN, a platform for cross-industry education and relationship building. Her experience includes translating farming practices into consumer-friendly, science-based messaging.
WFC Chairwoman Britany Hurst Marchant stated that Glazier's ability to communicate effectively about wheat production and nutrition will be a significant asset. Ron Suppes, a longtime board member, emphasized Glazier's potential to change the narrative surrounding wheat foods, noting that domestic demand has been stagnant and wheat is often vilified by diet culture.
The organization's focus under Glazier's leadership will be on strengthening domestic demand for wheat by elevating the farmer's voice, fostering connections between producers and consumers, and aligning industry messaging.
