In a written statement, Nandy indicated that her department had informed the current and proposed owners of Warner Bros Discovery of her inclination to intervene. Her assessment specifically considers the effect on various services, including Channel 5, TNT Sports, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, CNN International, as well as streaming platforms Paramount+ and HBO Max.
Furthermore, Nandy is evaluating whether to broaden public interest rules to better encompass the increasing significance of on-demand viewing. Warner Bros Discovery and Paramount have not yet responded to requests for comment.
