Stellantis announced that its preliminary vehicle shipments for the second quarter increased by 10% compared to the previous year, reaching close to 1.6 million units. This growth was significantly bolstered by a 38% rise in North America, the company's most crucial market, attributed to the introduction of new and updated models such as the Ram 1500 and refreshed Jeep and Chrysler vehicles.
In its second most important market, Enlarged Europe, Stellantis saw a 5% increase in shipments to 762,000 units, supported by higher industry volumes and the distribution of approximately 33,000 vehicles from its Chinese partner, Leapmotor. Demand in Europe was particularly strong for budget-friendly models like the Citroen C3 and Fiat Panda.
The positive performance in North America and Europe was partially counteracted by reduced volumes in the Middle East and Africa region, largely due to ongoing regional conflicts, and in South America, impacted by a weaker Argentine market. Stellantis is scheduled to release its comprehensive second-quarter financial results on July 30.
