The superhero film also surpassed $2 billion globally, making it the eighth movie in history to achieve this milestone.
In second place, “The Odyssey” grossed $23.2 million, bringing its domestic total to $504.7 million and its global earnings to over $1.2 billion.
Two new films, “The End of Oak Street” and “Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie,” battled for third place. “The End of Oak Street,” a PG-13 action movie starring Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor, garnered an estimated $21 million domestically and $26 million internationally.
