Meridian Title Corp. has acquired IN Title Company, a move that expands its footprint in Indiana and increases its total office network to 43 locations across Indiana and Michigan. The acquisition integrates IN Title Company's operations, which serve Delaware and Henry counties, into Meridian's broader network.
IN Title Company will maintain its existing team and local operational structure. This partnership will provide IN Title Company with access to Meridian's technological resources and a wider array of services, including 1031 tax-free exchange transactions and title services in multiple additional states. Jim Smith, co-president and attorney at IN Title Company, stated that the partnership allows them to continue serving clients with a local focus while benefiting from enhanced resources and technology.
Jim Trulock, also co-president and attorney at IN Title Company, indicated that discussions with Meridian's leadership team led to confidence in the partnership for both employees and clients. IN Title Company operates full-service title agencies in Muncie and New Castle, Indiana, handling both residential and commercial real estate transactions.
Founded in 1938 and based in South Bend, Indiana, Meridian Title offers title insurance, title research, escrow and closing services, and support for various transaction types. Following the acquisition, Meridian Title's workforce will exceed 230 employees. The expanded services available to IN Title Company clients will include 1031 exchanges, tax sale property services, and title services in states such as Michigan, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.
