Infosys has appointed Ashiss Kumar Dash, a veteran insider with over 30 years at the company, as its next Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. The transition is set to take effect on April 1, 2027, with Dash succeeding Salil Parekh, who will conclude his nine-year tenure.
Dash currently leads Infosys' energy vertical and a broad portfolio of industry verticals and sustainability initiatives. Infosys Chairman Nandan Nilekani stated that the board selected an internal leader to navigate the IT sector's technological pivot, emphasizing Dash's blend of transformation drive and adherence to company values.
The leadership announcement comes as Infosys released its first-quarter financial results, which showed a 14% year-on-year increase in revenue to Rs 482.11 billion ($4.99 billion), slightly missing analyst estimates. Net profit rose 12.2% to Rs 77.69 billion. The company attributed the revenue miss to global enterprise clients curtailing spending amid AI disruptions and subsequently trimmed the upper end of its full-year revenue growth guidance.
Dash, an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur and Stanford University, has held various leadership roles in delivery, operations, and business management, driving digital transformation initiatives. His current responsibilities include overseeing businesses serving Fortune 500 and Global 2000 enterprises, with a focus on AI-led transformation and emerging technologies. He is also involved in global discussions on sustainability and technology, and serves on the boards of several Infosys-owned companies and the Infosys Foundation USA.
