Indorama Ventures partners with Republic Cement for waste reduction

The initiative will be managed by IndoNova, Indorama Ventures' recycling division, which specializes in transforming post-consumer polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles into food-grade recycled PET (rPET) resin. Under the agreement, PET caps and labels that cannot be processed into rPET will be collected by Republic Cement's resource recovery unit, ecoloop. These materials will then be utilized as alternative fuel in cement production, diverting them from landfills.

Indorama Ventures stated that the project synergizes PETValue's bottle-to-bottle recycling capabilities with Republic Cement's expertise in resource recovery. This combined approach is designed to increase material recovery rates and support broader circular economy objectives, demonstrating cross-industry cooperation to reduce reliance on landfills in the Philippines.

PETValue Philippines, located in Cavite, is the country's first facility capable of producing food-grade PET recycling from bottle-to-bottle processes. It is a joint venture between Indorama Ventures and the beverage bottling and distribution company Coca-Cola Europacific Aboitiz Philippines (CCEAP).
