Honeywell Aerospace has secured two significant deals in the aviation sector. Indian airline IndiGo has chosen Honeywell's avionics and power systems for 810 of its Airbus A320neo-family aircraft. This agreement includes auxiliary power units, weather radar, traffic collision avoidance systems, and flight management systems, building on Honeywell's existing supply relationship with IndiGo since 2015.
In a separate announcement, Aeromexico plans to implement Honeywell's Surface Alerts (SURF-A) runway safety technology across its fleet of over 100 Boeing jets. The SURF-A system is designed to provide pilots with real-time auditory and visual warnings to prevent collisions on runways by analyzing GPS data, ADS-B equipment, and software analytics.
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration is expected to begin certifying the SURF-A technology on several Boeing aircraft models starting in the fourth quarter of 2026 and continuing into 2027. Honeywell Aerospace has not disclosed the financial details of either the IndiGo or Aeromexico agreements.
