Brazilian coach Filipe Luís has been appointed as the new head coach of AS Monaco, signing a contract that extends until June 2028. The former Brazil, Atletico Madrid, and Chelsea left back departed Flamengo in March, having led the Brazilian club to the league title and the Copa Libertadores in 2025. He also managed Flamengo at the Club World Cup last year. Monaco, which finished seventh in the French league last season and will compete in the Conference League playoffs, announced the hiring on Monday. Luís's coaching staff will include Ivan Palanco as assistant coach and Diogo Linhares as fitness coach, both of whom previously worked with him at Flamengo. Antony Santiago has been promoted to assistant coach, and Jyri Nieminen will serve as goalkeeping coach.
