Britany Boatwright, founder of MaX House brokered by eXp Realty, has achieved significant success, with her team reporting $103.32 million in sales volume and 264 transaction sides in 2025, ranking them among top teams in Tennessee. This achievement comes despite Boatwright's personal battle with breast cancer, diagnosed in September 2022.
Boatwright, who studied psychology and education, initially pursued teaching before transitioning to insurance and then real estate. She was inspired to get her license after a less-than-satisfactory experience with her own agent. She launched The Boattright Group in June 2021 and later opened her own team.
Her cancer diagnosis in September 2022, with a 8-centimeter tumor and spread to a lymph node, coincided with her plans to open a new firm. Initially overwhelmed, Boatwright was encouraged by a coach to identify top producers and formalize training systems to continue growing her business. She proceeded with her brokerage's grand opening on September 19, 2022, the same day she underwent full-body scans.
Boatwright underwent chemotherapy, enduring harsh side effects, but maintained a regular office schedule and kept her diagnosis largely private until December 2022, when she completed treatment. Colleagues expressed surprise at her ability to maintain such a high level of activity during treatment.
In January 2023, scans revealed no trace of cancer, and subsequent pathology reports in February 2023 confirmed her remission. Boatwright later learned she is BRCA2 positive, leading to further preventative surgeries. She credits her son's presence with keeping her grounded during her ordeal. She is now writing a book about her experience and continues to lead her successful real estate team.
