Warren Buffett has confirmed he has stopped donating to the Gates Foundation, redirecting billions of dollars to his family's charitable organizations. The move comes in the wake of revelations concerning Bill Gates's past interactions with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Buffett announced he is donating approximately $6 billion worth of Berkshire Hathaway Class B shares to four family foundations managed by his children: Susie, Howard, and Peter. He further stated his intention to donate all remaining Berkshire Hathaway shares to these foundations by December 31, 2034.
Since 2006, Buffett had pledged to donate his Berkshire shares throughout his lifetime, with the Gates Foundation being a primary recipient, having received over $47 billion in stock. Last year alone, his donation to the Gates Foundation exceeded $4.5 billion.
Bill Gates had previously testified to Congress in June, admitting he did not fully comprehend the extent of Epstein's crimes when he associated with him to raise funds for his foundation. Gates also stated he never witnessed any criminal activity by Epstein.
