Suzuki to export electric minicars to Europe as soon as 2027

Suzuki Motor plans to launch a kei mini electric vehicle in Europe as early as spring 2027, Nikkei has learned. The company aims to compete with local and Chinese EV makers with its unique Japanese class of small, affordable cars. The production version of the Vision e-Sky concept, scheduled to launch in Japan in November, will be sold outside Japan, reaching mainland European and UK roads in spring 2027. The model will reportedly start from under £20,000, positioning it in direct competition with small, affordable electric cars like the Dacia Spring, Renault Twingo, and Honda Super-N. The yet-unnamed EV will be smaller than the 3,860 mm long Suzuki Swift. The concept measures 3,395 mm long and is eligible for Japan’s kei car regulations. Styling is not expected to deviate significantly from the prototype, with minor tweaks anticipated on bumpers and lighting units, along with conventional door handles and larger mirrors.
