Chinese toymaker Pop Mart International has expanded its global presence by opening a new store and its first Pop Bakery in Southeast Asia at Singapore's Resorts World Sentosa. The launch comes as the company faces slowing domestic sales and normalising demand in China following a strong intellectual property cycle.
The Pop Bakery, located on the second floor of a duplex at RWS' lifestyle destination Weave, offers a range of character-themed desserts and beverages. The ground floor houses the Pop Mart retail store. This is the second stand-alone Pop Bakery globally, with the first opening in Aranya, China.
Menu highlights include the Pucky Xiao Long Bao Dessert, Twinkle Twinkle Tangy Coconut Mousse, and Labubu “David” Art Cake, all designed to be visually appealing and inspired by Pop Mart's popular characters. Specialty beverages and latte art featuring characters like Labubu and Molly are also available. The bakery requires a minimum spend for character meet-and-greet sessions.
Resorts World Sentosa CEO Lee Shi Ruh stated that the collaboration enriches the destination's offerings and provides visitors with a unique experience. The new outlets are expected to drive growth, particularly in underpenetrated markets.
