Japanese medical equipment manufacturer Nipro is set to launch a mobile dialysis training program in rural India starting in September. The initiative aims to address a critical shortage of qualified healthcare professionals and tap into the growing market for dialysis services in the country.
Specially designed 15-meter-long buses, equipped with compact dialysis units and necessary water treatment systems, will travel to medical facilities across four Indian states, including Uttar Pradesh. These mobile units will provide hands-on training to doctors and nurses on the operation of dialysis equipment.
A pilot session for the program was held on June 26, 2026, at Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon, drawing over 40 healthcare professionals. The initiative draws inspiration from Nipro's iMEP Japan educational philosophy, emphasizing simulation-based learning, practical skills development, and continuous feedback to enhance clinical competencies.
The first pilot batch of the program commenced on July 13, 2026, at the International Training Centre at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram.
